Bannerghatta National park is one of the richest zoological reserves found in India.Bannerghatta National Park is another amazing park to the south of Bangalore.Bannerghatta National Park is situated 22 km south of Bangalore.Bannerghatta National Park was founded in the year of 1971 and declared as a national park in 1974.covered erea of 104.27 sq.kms(25000 acres) which includes ten Reserve Forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division.The Bannerghatta Biological Park is where the Forest Department has rehabilitated lions and tigers in semi-wild environs. The National park has emerged as a much coveted recreation destination for families and couples who hang out here very often. Bannerghatta National Park offers a lot to all age groups and is a one stop destination for travellers who can find various activities here matching their taste.There’s a zoo, a herbivore enclosure with blackbuck, bison, cheetal, sambar, a butterfly park, a bear enclosure and more. The flora of the park comprises of dry deciduous forests, thorny scrub, bamboo groves and a wide variety of plantations and trees.The Forest Department also offers a Grand Safari covering all enclosures, an elephant joy ride, a short trek and a longer trek. Bannerghatta has been used as a rehabilitation facility for tigers and lions rescued from circuses. The biggest of its kind, this facility has opened opportunities for India’s first Lion and Tiger Safari. With enclosures that recreate their natural habitat, seeing a giant cat up close, with just the safety of the jeep separating you and the beast, resonates to a very deep part of you.pet's corner as well as a museum is also situated inside this national park. Lion safaris are also organized at request. Bannerghatta National Park boasts of a rich flora, comprising of the zizyphus, jalari, neem, tamarind, chujjullu, sandal, etc. If you want to experience the beauty of the wild animals in their natural habitat, this national park is the just the place for you. The animals of the park are provided with an ambience that allows them to live in harmony with nature. The parking area lies near the entrance opposite the zoo. There are several soft drinks vendors near the entry point and kiosks in the zoo precincts.Bannerghatta National Park is a wonderful attraction for all ages and will be best enjoyed by those who love to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature.

Safari 
The Mejoracctration of Bannerghatta National Park is Lion ,Tiger,Bear and Herbivore safari.The Grand Safari Timing is 10:00 Am to 4:30 Pm.The main safari road of the  Bannerghatta Biological Park  starts from the entry gate, veers left towards the lion and tiger enclosures past an abandoned quarry, on either side of which lie the butterfly garden and a park. The bear enclosure is near the Rescue Centre (off tourist limits). After a zoo visit, you must return to the entry gate area to take the safaris you have opted for. The Grand Safari covers all four enclosures. A trek in the herbivore enclosure requires minimum 10 people. The Forest Department runs the safaris. Jungle Lodges has its own vehicles, which do the safaris in conjunction.

The Zoo 
The Zoo is Situated of a short distance from the entry gates, on the right of Bannerghatta National Park.The BBP(Bannerghatta Biological Park) comprises of a zoo, with many mammals, reptiles and birds. There’s also a small museum and auditorium in the zoo. The BBP Office near the entry gate issues tickets for the zoo and safaris.The Zoo has many animals,reptiles and birds in capitivity.The snake enclosures attract a lot of attention especially the king cobra.Peacock,peasants,Munia,love Birds are kept in large numbers.The Elephant Ride inclued in zoo with Payble.The Zoo Timing is 9:30 Am to 5:00 Pm .

Butterfly park

 The Butterfly park is one of the mejor attraction of Bannerghatta National Park.The Butterfly park is one of park all india level.The park wsa started in 1996 and 7.5 acers land cover of  Bannerghatta National Park.The park is a combined effort of the Zoo Authority of Karnataka, University of Agricultural Sciences and the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and Environment .Union Minister of Science and Technology Kapil Sibal inaugurated the park.The living environment inside the enclosure has many tropical plants,controlled humid climate,water falls that support the breeding of Butterflies.there around 20 spccies of butterflies.There is an exhibition of butterflies and hall for audio video presentation of butterflies.The timing of Butter fly park is 9:30 Am to 5:00Pm .

Biological Reserve

The Bannerghatta National Park and surrounding area have been declared as a biological reserve. The park has a rich conglomeration of wide array of animals. The park is a wildlife corridor where some endangered varieties of animals are kept for the purpose of breeding away from the human population.Other attraction is Boating,Trekking,Survarunamukhi Hills,Stream and Pond,Forest,Coracle ride,Bird Watching,Day Visit,Nature Walk,Elephant Rides,Kayaking,Mountain Biking,Water Rafting,Snorkeling and Many More in the Park.
